Research Conflicts of Interest

Research Integrity and Security

A cornerstone of Mines’ stewardship of research funds entrusted to us is transparency in disclosing potential conflicts of interest. Our dynamic faculty, staff, and students engage in a wide range of activities that complement their work in our learning and research community. We must carefully manage any actual or potential conflicts of interest that might impact the research we pursue or decisions we make as institutional officials.

In those cases where affiliations outside the university or assets held may create a conflict of interest or even the appearance of a conflict in carrying out our research duties or decision making, each of us must embrace accountability and openness. Full disclosure of outside connections constitutes the first step in managing real or perceived research conflicts of interest.
