Our goal is to purchase a state-of-the-art single crystal X-ray diffractometer (SCXRD) and make it available to anyone on campus in a shared core facility. SCXRDs are powerful instruments that allow you to determine the atomic structure of a crystalline sample, including organic and inorganic materials, biomolecules, small molecules, and geological samples. Your financial contribution will help us purchase an instrument and keep it running. Mines does not currently have a SCXRD. This instrument is functionally distinct from powder XRD capabilities on campus.
